Has it Been A Whole Week?

I can't believe a week has passed since my last post.
I've been working on a new pattern for a shawl. It will be a simple lace pattern worked in a silk boucle yarn. I'm waiting for my new knitting software before I publish the last 2 patterns I've written/am writing so I can include some good charts with them. If I'm happy with the silk shawl, I'll offer it as a knitting kit with the yarn that I'll hand dye.
I went to take a photo of my work-in-progress, only to find that my camera batteries needed charging.
My current camera is an Olympus C-740 Camedia with the 10X optical zoom, which was great when we first bought it a couple of years ago, but I think (from seeing all the great photos other bloggers are posting) that technology has improved, and want a camera with truer color. Does anyone have a camera recommendation?
Yipee...We are almost done with our Christmas shopping!! Oh no, I've forgotten again to send out Christmas cards. I REALLY suck at sending any kind of cards. This weekend was supposed to be the last chance to send them. I have a friend who actually sent hers out after Christmas last year. I was hoping to avoid doing the same. Maybe tomorrow.....

Babies

Today, my first baby ever turned 19!!

He is so busy with full-time college, full-time work, and full-time volunteering that I don't get to REALLY spend time with him anymore, but today was one of those rare times when I did, and I savored every wonderful moment of it.

I think our tree decorating is finally done. You can see my other 2 babies in the foreground.

Here is the newest addition to our fiber family:

That is a Louet S17 that I finished with a great rusty-red stain, and that is available for rent to anyone in the San Antonio area for $15.00/week, or $45.00/month.

It has been very cold, so cold that I took this picture earlier in the week:

That is a real icicle she's holding.....a big deal for this part of Texas!

The Wheels are a-spinnin'

I've been spinning hanks for the shop, and tomorrow I'll finish photographing them and setting the twist in them, then I'll add the new "Handspun Yarns" page to the shop on Wednesday or so.

I've been doing some Louet pricing research, and have found that I need to lower my prices some to be competetive with all the sales other's are offering, so check out the new sale prices (free shipping still applies):

I feel the need to add a photo here, so I'll brows my photo library and give you something to look at. Be right back!!

Okay, here is DH with his favorite guys- The Wright Brothers (it's a silly pic)

I Tried

I was unable to get a good picture of Mom's shawl in progress, maybe when it is done.
I've come to realize that I only really enjoy knitting, okay.... FINISHING, my own patterns, unless it is a gift that I'm knitting. I have 4 shawls in progress, but I've started and completed 4 of my own patterns since I began the first of those 4 UFO's.
I will finish Mom's, though, because my Catholic upbringing taught me to avoid the guilt that would surely ensue the abandonement of that project.
DH is getting me knitting software for Christmas that will create neat and professional graphs for my patterns. I can't wait!!
I"ll be adding a "handspun" page to my shop next week, so be looking for that.
No pics today.
